Do you currently find yourself in a season where you feel overwhelmed, confused and fearful?
Overwhelmed by life’s challenges?
Confused on which way to turn or what decision to make?
Fearful of the unknown?
I too have been there and it can be a very difficult season to endure, but here’s what I want you to know.
That in which we do not understand, we must learn to lay at our Heavenly Father’s feet. It is in moments of the unknown that faith is required for us to persevere against the odds.
No matter what you are facing right now, I want you to know there is something greater on the other side of your pain. It is easy to get lost in the fog and moments of uncertainty but I want you to be reminded of God’s word where….
He promises to never leave nor forsaken you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
He promises to finish the great work He has started within you. (Philippians 1:6)
He promises to be close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18)
It is during tough times that we learn who God really is without hiding behind religion, being wrapped up in legalism, following a bunch of rules or being trapped in a routine. Having a true relationship with Christ must be our intention as He promises to be our guide through all things.
Your wilderness season has an expiration date and the reason you feel such intensity is because you are so close to your breakthrough. This is why I want to encourage you to press through the pain so that your purpose can be discovered.
Pressing through the pain may look like….
- Showing up when you want to stay in bed.
- Being led by your emotions rather than being led by God’s spirit.
- Extending forgiveness to yourself when you get off track.
- Receiving God’s love and forgiveness rather than condemnation from the enemy.
- Choosing to worship rather than to worry.
- Choosing to pray your way through the pain rather than waddle in your own misery.
- Reminding yourself of what God’s word says about you instead of focusing on the opinions of others.
- Heeding to Wisdom’s whispers.
Truth is, we are all in the fight of our lives and the adversary is not letting up. But my friend, know that you are stronger than any opposition you may face. How do I know? Because when I am weak that’s when He’s strong. (II Corinthians 12:10).
One of my favorite scriptures that I stand on and declare aloud daily is: “God has given me the power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means harm me.”
That means when things come up against me they are actually coming up against God and I am covered. Some battles we must press through by the power of His might and not our own. The spirit of exhaustion comes upon us when we try to do things on our own without asking God to lead and guide us.
Be reminded that you are not alone and that the race is not given to the swift or to the strong but to the one who endures to the end. I can assure you that you will make it out of this.
