Often times we as people go through so much but if truth be told we fail to take responsibility for many of our actions. Everything bad that happens in our lives is not because of the devil. No, you can’t pay your light bill because you’d rather have that new dress in which will be out of style in a few weeks & there will be yet another dress that will catch your attention.
No, it’s not the devil that took your husband away but it was your nagging, and your failing to honor and respect him even if he didn’t do everything right. What happened to ‘the sanctified wife sanctifies the husband’ anyway? Problem is we as women especially women of color tend to always have to have the last say. Therefore when our mate ends up with a Caucasian woman (or any woman) we have a problem with it & want to call her a home wrecker & shift the blame on her that way it is off of us! But look at somebody & say, “Lord, make me dead to it!”
Truth is God is calling us to a greater level of accountability. And why is it that many of us can only do what is right when someone is watching? But what happened to doing what is right because it is right? That’s what real character is anyway, what we do when no one is watching. Do you take that money out of petty cash at work but vow to put it back by next pay period before anyone ever notices? What happened to faith & trusting in the Lord to be Jehovah Jireh (Our Provider) in our lives?
These are only a few of the many issues that we as women have. We must learn to allow the Lord to deal with the real us! It is time to peel off the mask & uncover ourselves & allow God to cleanse us from the inside out because we are not fooling Him anyway. His perception of us is what really matters anyway, not your neighbor!! If we spent at least half or even a portion doing a heart check, & perfecting our Love Walk (As one of my mentors: Joyce Meyer would say) as we do checking our hair, makeup & our outfit then truth is we all would be much better off than we are now & wouldn’t have so much junk in our trunk & I am NOT talking about your behind!
Ladies it is time out for us to stop coming to church & shouting all over the place but then going right back out there sleeping with Joe, Clinton & James when none of them are our husbands! Where are our standards? Uplift your head & come out today! Allow God to cleanse & purge you of your feelings of unworthiness, low self esteem,& insecurity. You are complete in HIM! It is time to know who you are & whose you are & let that joker go! We as women shouldn’t want anything the Lord didn’t give us anyway. Time out for dating unsaved men & saying but he grew up in church & loves the Lord. Don’t be deceived!! The Word of God tells us that those who love Him, OBEY HIM. And stop being so needy! God is our source of strength & if we have bills that are of necessity we must trust that He will enable us to pay every last one of them & teach us how to be wise with our money where we can build a savings account & stop spending every dime we make. Don’t worry I am talking to myself right here as well.
Time out for letting a man continue to put his hands on you then in the same breath turn around & tell you he loves you. That is not love. Read the book of John in the Bible & learn what real love is! God loved us so much that He GAVE (that means we didn’t have to do anything to receive it) His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him shall live & have everlasting life. If God gave Jesus to us freely then why are we prostituting our bodies to men that don’t mean us any good & if truth be told they cause us more pain than anything else. But, we as women are so afraid of being alone & don’t feel like we are worth anything unless we are connected to a man! If this is the case, then baby connect yourself to Jesus! He will rock you all night & all day & when you wake up He will still be right there holding you. But you know what the greatest part is: you will wake up conviction FREE!!! (Here’s your opportunity to shout right here!!
In my closing I would like to say this: Fornication (sex outside of marriage) must stop! Masturbation must stop! Lying must stop! Being jealous of our neighbor must stop! Being a DRAMA QUEEN (always being what I like to call ‘extra’ & starting trouble) must stop! Homosexuality must stop!! Time out for preaching in our pulpits & dirtying up God’s people! If you know you are still wrestling with this spirit but are in a place of leadership then like Prophetess Juanita Bynum said, Go sit your hips down somewhere (& brothers this applies to you too because some of our men are switching just as hard if not harder than some women)! Get clean!!
It is time to be man or woman enough to be real with ourselves & say ‘I struggle in this area & I want God to make me dead to it’! In case you are wondering why I say, ‘make you dead to it’ because I learned yesterday while sitting at the feet of my Pastor (Apostle Elijah Forte’) that deliverance isn’t what will keep us holy but what will keep us holy if becoming dead to whatever situation that is trying to hold us captive& keep us from being all God has created us to be. Dead things don’t respond. In other words when Satan tries to tempt you by having that fine brother approach you & you know God has called you into a season of singleness then you don’t have to think twice about doing the right thing because fornication is no longer an issue for you because of your relationship with God. You have become dead to it!!! And you can apply this principle to whatever your situation may be!
So, remember ‘become dead’ to whatever situation that is trying to hold you bound & allow God to help you live a CLEAN life by following his lead & not your own fleshly desires! God bless!
