Have you ever felt that you were being attacked on every hand, especially in the workplace? Not feeling appreciated nor being rewarded or recognized for your many contributions and daily sacrifices? Getting called into your supervisor’s office for ‘pettiness’ and often feeling as though you were being ganged up on? Almost losing your cool and only Jesus kept those curse words from coming out that Satan kept trying to shove into your spirit? If so, I too have been where you are, and not too long ago.
However, I had to learn the hard way that this entire process was a personal ‘one on one’ teaching on the importance of humility. I had to endure a season of pure brokenness. Many people today lack humility and have yet to learn how to handle these type of situations. I used to be guilty of this, and had an excuse for everything, and in my distorted vision it was always the other person’s fault. It is important for us as believers to guard our tongue and ensure we are doing what we should be doing on our jobs. Truth is, we can’t stop people from talking but what we can do is make sure we are not doing anything outside the will of God that may be used against us. Now, as an employee we are hired to do a job, not get yoked up in this clique or the ‘gossiping’ group at work.
But, we are each placed on our particular jobs so that our light can shine ever so bright to hopefully draw those that don’t know Jesus unto Him. Coming into work everyday with a smile on our face is important as being representatives of Christ. We should never allow personal issues to weigh on us to the point that we can not function properly and do our jobs to the level of expectation in which we were hired. Jesus is the burden bearer so lay all of your burdens at His feet. Maybe you are going through on your job or in your personal life, give it Jesus and know that Jesus is only trying to work on you.
Who knows…God could use you to bring those to repentance that just may be giving you a hard time simply by you responding in a godly manner. I am sharing anything with you that I have not had to face and go through and am still going through myself. You may say, Carla all of this sounds cute and is much easier said than done but sister girl, or brother man that’s why we have Jesus to help us through all that we can’t handle on our own! So, do yourself a favor and take it to the Lord in prayer and instead of focusing on who is doing you wrong and so forth or trying to set you up at work, switch your prayer and ask God to show you what it is that He wants you to see and learn about you. Because if God allowed it then trust, it has a purpose and He is waiting for you to ask Him so he may reveal it to you!
