As I look back over my life & the various things I have overcome I must truly not only take a moment & thank God for being Lord in my life as well as making all of my success possible, not only thank those that were there for me & who believed in me & prayed for me. But I must also take a moment & thank my haters!
You may look puzzled because we are taught that our haters have no significance but the truth of the matter is that they do! It is because of them talking about you that the Lord intervened & kept you when they said you wouldn’t make it! It is because of haters that you have been transformed into a prayer warrior today because you learned how to take it to the Lord in prayer!
It is because of your own family turning their back on you & saying you would never amount to anything that caused you to fight with everything inside of you to be somebody (in Jesus)! It is because of those people that gave up on you when you kept messing up & left you for dead & although you kept falling you always managed to get back up!
See many of us have been praying the wrong prayer for those that have done us wrong or for those that have hurt us, betrayed us, lied on us, destroyed (or tried to) our character & so forth. Instead of praying that the Lord kills our enemies we must pray that the Lord forgives them & blesses them. This may not feel good to our flesh & we may not even 100% agree with this concept but the truth is it works.
We must release our faith long enough to believe the Word of God in its entirety. If God says in Psalm 23:5 that ‘thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over’ then it is vital that you believe this & not just read it & walk away saying yeah ok & allow it to be of no significance to you. Because often times people are present when we fall but they don’t stick around long enough to see us get back up! I feel my help coming on right here!
One thing about a hater, there is no way possible that we can stop them from doing what they do or being who they are. A liar is going to lie, a thief is going to steal, a prayer warrior is going to pray, a praiser is going to praise! And can I tell you something? Come close, ’cause I don’t want to rain on nobody parade, but we have haters in the church! (organ plays) Yes suh! Truth is not everyone is excited about what the Lord in doing in your life or better yet that you came out of whatever it was that you were in. So stop expecting everyone to rejoice with you & be happy for you! Look at your neighbor & say, “It’s not going to happen!’One thing my previous Co-Pastor taught me is, that people are going to be people!
So, therefore, you must stop having false expectations of folk & realize the Bible says that we are to put no trust in no man. But we are to trust the Lord enough to know that no matter what comes or goes in our lives God is going to make good of it! Romans 8:28 says, “That ALL things work together for the good of them that love the Lord”. Do you really understand what this means?
It means that all the good, all the bad & the in between is going to work for you versus against you. So, there are some things that we simply must become ‘dead’ to. Remember what I told you, dead people are unresponsive. So, when your co-workers get to talking about you & it gets back to you by the bone carrier (cause that’s exactly what these people are) don’t respond. It may be hard but even if you have to clinch your jaws, or bite your tongue, ask the Lord to give you strength to smile. Better yet to give you strength to tell that person to stop coming back & telling you this stuff because you truly don’t care to hear it. You don’t have to be rude, but you can be what some people may call ‘nice/nasty’. You are saying it nicely but firmly, so people call that nice/nasty.
Let me get out of here! I pray I helped you today! Just remember things you have no control over & can’t fix why not trust God to work it out? Stop trying to explain yourself because the truth is FOLK gonna believe what they want to believe. So, practice with me, waive your hand, smile & say HI HATER!!!!
