Today many of us are going through one thing or another.
Some are dealing with abusive mates, some are struggling financially, some are frustrated with ministry, some are going through a bad breakup or divorce, some are dealing with disobedient children that may have seemed to have completely gone astray.
Bottom line is we all are going through one thing or another.
In Luke 4: 1-2 We learn that Jesus fasted for 40 days & 40 nights and immediately afterward He is sent into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan. Now, this is just like many of us today. How many times have we had such a high, anointed time in the Lord at church on Sunday only to have all hell break lose in our lives on Monday.
When trials come, when tragedy strikes instead of going into panic mode we must take it back to the original slogan: WHAT WOULD JESUS DO (WWJD)? I know this may sound cliche’ but truth is the Bible is our manual to life & we are to learn by the example of how Jesus lived.
Immediately when Satan came with his foolishness Jesus’ only reply was:” It is written…” and He used the Word of God as His weapon to overcome the enemy. That strategy has not changed today and should be enforced in our daily lives. Truth is many of us desire a closer walk with God, we say we want to go higher in Him, but we won’t pick up the very tool He has given us to fight with that is sharper than any two edged sword. But instead we will allow ourselves to lose sight of who our real enemy is. For the word of God says that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal and neither do we wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities and higher powers. So our enemy is not our neighbor although it may be our neighbor that is giving us a hard time. Or maybe it was your neighbor that stole your money, or your neighbor that slept with your husband or wife! Truth is our real enemy is Satan and trust me he hides well.
This is where spiritual warfare comes in. We must hide ourselves in the Word of God and not be afraid to use it as our weapon, not be afraid to use praise/worship and prayer as our weapons.
So I challenge you the next time you are approached with a situation and your flesh wants you to curse someone out, or breakdown and cry, or whatever it is that is contrary to the will of God because remember there is no good thing that dwells within the flesh. That’s why the Bible says they that worship me must worship in Spirit and in truth. But what I was saying is, next time you are tempted to act out of your character immediately go into praise and begin to change your atmosphere and ask God to help you gain control over that situation vs that situation gaining control over you!
So again I ask the question: Can you stand the test? Can you deal with people talking about you, friends backstabbing you, folk not liking you for whatever reason? Can you deal with what appears to be a demotion only to find out in the spiritual realm God is only humbling you for the promotion He is about to bring forth in your life? I don’t know who this message is for but I know it blessed my soul and I am even ministering unto myself right now.
Because truth is, it gets hard out here regardless of titles, regardless of how much money we have in the bank or what we drive or how good we dress, there is nothing that any of us can get away from and that is life. We must lose ourselves in the things of God, hide ourselves in His word and keep praise on our lips if we are determined to stand these last days.
I don’t know about you but depression has struck me for the last time. I will not be depressed! I will not be oppressed! I will not be fearful! But I will be courageous! I will walk into the places that God has ordained for me to walk! I will speak what God tells me to speak! I will love my brother and sister fearlessly and trust God to protect me!
Bless you on today and just remember you have what it takes! Take your Bible off that shelf and pray for revelation knowledge as you begin to dig deeper into the things of God. Watch how God will begin to open your eyes to the truth for believe it or not many are being deceived daily. So stand firm in the things of God and release your faith to trust and believe the words you read and rely on God and only Him to take care of you!
God bless you!
