5 Things to Do When You Feel Confused

We all have those days when we are feeling blah and sometimes there could be absolutely nothing wrong. However, there is this feeling you can’t seem to shake. Trust me I’ve been there and if I’m honest, I still have those days. Being a full-time entrepreneur is work and can have your mind going a hundred miles per hour. Or even if you aren’t a business owner, but find yourself wearing many hats such as: employee, spouse/partner, mom, friend; etc., it can all be a lot at times.

Last week was one of those times for me where I had to pause and ask God what the heck He wanted me to do in this season. Sure, I have a lot of head knowledge and experience in business to the point that i know how to make money, and help others. However, in that moment I was curious to know what my Dad wanted me to do. (Side Note: I call God Daddy– that’s a personal thing with me and Him; you should try it if you never have. It makes Him feel much closer than so far away off in the sky somewhere lol)

That was a telltale sign for me that I needed to take a break to…

  1. REST
  2. RELAX
  3. REFLECT
  4. REFRESH
  5. REJOICE

REST
Whether you choose to accept this or not, our body and mind needs REST. We use our brain for everything and there are times when we need to shut it all down and lay in Daddy’s arms and just rest. Doing this allows Him to pour strength and wisdom into us while guiding us to our next whether in relation to our marriage, business, ministry, friendships, career; etc.

RELAX
Next, I had to RELAX. I’ve always been a pretty upbeat person, however, while doing my inner healing work I noticed that I can also be anxious a lot of times where my shoulders are tight and my jaws are clinched. In these moments i remind myself to breathe, and relax while handling daily tasks. Doing this has also helped me increase self-awareness even while typing this message to you. Experiencing peace is so important to me at this point of my life and the older I get, the more I crave it.

REFLECT
Taking time to REFLECT is important as well because we often leave behind so many valuable lessons that life is trying to teach us when we don’t take the time to pause and reflect on the good as well as the not so good moments in our life. Reflections turn into moments of gratitude where I’m thanking Daddy for both answered and unanswered prayers.

REFRESH
Unwinding from the day by enjoying a long bath, spending time in meditation, or simply sitting in silence are some of the ways I REFRESH myself in preparation for what’s next. When we are constantly going nonstop without coming up for air, that is a recipe for burn out and disaster.

REJOICE
I recently filled up the pages in my Gratitude Journal and I was actually proud of myself for sticking with it. Instead of just writing out my thoughts, ideas and emotions in my regular journal, I found this option to be much more liberating. Taking time each day to REJOICE and give God thanks has served as a reminder that He has everything under control.

Remember to take some time today to REST, RELAX, REFLECT, REFRESH and REJOICE because you’ve accomplished so many great things but much more is to come and you want those opportunities to meet the best version of you; not the tired and worn out version!
