3 Ways to Practice Self-Love Today

Help Us Spread the Word! Share…Share…Share

Throughout this journey called life, you are the one person you will never be able to get away from. Therefore, it is imperative that you learn to fall in love with who you are and be kind to the little girl or boy that resides within you.

This week on The Carla Cannon Show (weekdays at 8:30amest via Facebook Live & You Tube) we are discussing the importance of making yourself a priority in 2021.

Now is the time for you to tap into who God has called you to be and commit to becoming her or him all the days of your life.

To make ourselves a priority we must practice self-love and here are 3 ways you can do so right away:

  1. Be present to what you feel– Never allow anyone to tell you that you are wrong for feeling a particular way. It is our response that determines the outcome of a matter. How and what you feel matters; YOU MATTER. No longer brush it off when something bothers you, but take a moment to identify the emotion, get clear on the root cause of it and implement your strategy for overcoming negative emotions.

  2. Don’t internalize everything you see.– Everything is not about you. Often times the things that happen to us is not because of us but God will use it to get a message to us. Be careful to feel, but also guard your gates and not allow your mind to become overly consumed, or even your heart to become overly involved in matters that do not involve you. Protect your peace and remember you can’t save everyone but your Father in Heaven can.

  3. Extend grace and gratitude to yourself- Learn to forgive yourself for any mishaps you have experienced in life. When you learn to forgive yourself it will become practice and much easier for you to extend it to others. Also, be grateful for who you are becoming as well as where you have been. It has all been a valuable part of your process.

Remember: What happened to you may not have been your fault, but your healing is your responsibility. Therefore, be kind to yourself this week by giving an ear to your inner child rather than shutting him or her down whenever she/he tries to speak. Listen to her/him; you never know what they are trying to reveal.

Comment below and share which of the three self-love tips resonated with you the most that you’ll be applying to your life today.

I so love this message because it helps me continue to work on me without thinking it is selfish. My Therapist has given me tips and I was struggling with the steps but I feel better because of the ways you explain it. I help others and put them before me in the past when it came to me I was drain and couldn’t help myself. I was working on me first then help others but lost focus you just help me Refocus back to me without feeling selfish.
